On July 10, I will fly out of steamy Hotlanna and land the following morning in the furnace of Rome! On tap: two back-to-back conferences, one outreach, and time with friends in Anzio to recover. A bit of limoncella too no doubt, pasta, cappuccino and gelati of course....
Plenty of vowel sounds...plenty of art...enough time to savor the layers of Italy amidst a frenetic schedule?!
In my bags: gifts, the slimmest clothing I can find and still maintain a semblence of propriety, and "Italy Out of Hand: A Capricious Tour" by Barbara Hodgson (among other books). Technology and new sneakers. Sketchbook and camera. Hopes, dreams, visions, and one particular word which I will keep to myself for the moment, but be on the lookout for during my five weeks in Italy. I may tell you about it later. How's that for intrigue?!
